Longjs is a javascript object oriented framework and libraries to build rich web user interface easily.
While using SpiderMonkey and/or other interpretors and compilers, javascript can also be used as a kind of scripting language or server side language. So Longjs may consider to support these environments.
[edit] Why is it called Long?
This project has just began and it's very short now, but I think as the packages are being released, it will become longer and longer.
But "Long" here has nothing to do with length. It's the romanization of Chinese character "龙", which means dragon. But Chinese dragons differ from western ones, they signify auspices and rights. Long is a kind of animal (of course, it's not real) building up with the face of horses, the horn of deers, the body of snakes, the scales and tail of fish, claw of eagles and etc.
Someone has made up a new word "LOONG" to simulate the real pronunciation of the character in Chinese. But I think the original one can tell more about the connotation. And the spelling of double "O" makes me come up with a word "DRAGOON" in StarCraft.
